Mission
As part of launch complex team, you will be responsible for the Design of launch pads Mechanism. You will design elements such as racks, launch ramp transport systems, ramp erection systems, rocket release systems, etc.
In addition, it will play a crucial role in the testing and validation processes, thus ensuring the overall quality and performance of our launch pad Mechanism.
Responsibilities
- Design the mechanisms for launch pads and its mechanical and structural components, from the concept definition to the detailed design, performing also the standard components selection, such as fasteners, bearings, etc.
- Functional analysis, kinematic of mechanisms and clash analysis, as well as material selection in accordance with operating conditions, environment, etc.
- Selection of hydraulic actuators, according to requirements.
- Generation of engineering documentation: 3D models, drawings, bill of materials, weight reports, technical reports, engineering change notes, assemblies and installation manuals.
- Prototyping, testing, qualification and production.
- Support manufacturing and assembly processes, providing technical guidance and resolving any design-related issues that arise during production or mounting.
- Support the supply chain department in purchases of designed elements and subsystems, ensuring compliance with requirements, specifications, delivery time and cost.
Necessary Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field such as industrial engineering, aerospace engineering or electromechatronics engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in 3D design software (Solidworks, Solid Edge, NX , Catia or Inventor).
- Experience in Drawing dimensioning, Tolerance Stack Analysis and Methods (ASME Y14.5, ISO 1101).
- Experience in mechanism design and selection of standard components (bearings, actuators, transmissions, etc.).
- Familiar with manufacturing technologies (machining, sheet metal forming, welding), and assembly’s processes
- Proven in the development of products from the concept design through to the production and delivery of assembly.
- Knowledge in application of design criteria and selection of materials according to their mechanical properties, according to the loading conditions, working environment, etc.
- Able to work autonomously with little supervision
- Availability to travel occasionally.
- Fluent written and oral communication both in Spanish and English.
Desired Requirements
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years of experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of Siemens NX & Teamcenter
- Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus
- Demonstrated experience in design of industrial machinery and Mechanism
- Familiarity with industry standards (DIN, ISO, etc).
- Familiarity with mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
- Soft skills such as effective communication with stakeholders, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and share ideas.
- Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic and challenging environment."
- High level of English.
