Mission

As a Flight Instrumentation Engineer of the Avionics Team, you will be responsible for all aspects of flight sensors, actuators, control systems and its development and production life cycle, while maintaining their interfaces across the different flight subsystems and providing also support on the manufacturing, assembly, integration and its operation in launch vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse high-level requirements and capture needs from other subsystems to trace and define technical specifications of flight sensors and actuators.
  • Elaborate internal design and operative criteria standards and general specifications.
  • Conduct technical trade-off analyses for the selection of flight instrumentation components such as sensors, detectors, valves, thrust vector control actuators, etc.
  • Lead technical interactions with suppliers to select, design, build, test and deliver flight instrumentation components.
  • Act as technical point of contact for all the activities related to the design, development, testing and operation of the sensors and actuators systems of the launch vehicle.
  • Conduct modelling, performance simulations and analyses of electrical and electro-mechanical systems via classical and computer methods.
  • Support the production and V&V teams in the assembly, characterization, calibration, data evaluation and test campaigns of each instrumentation component.
  • Generate, maintain and release on schedule engineering documentation such as ICDs, trade-offs, Design Justification Files, user manuals and technical reports.
  • Own and maintain updated the flight sensors and actuators list and its interfaces across the vehicle while ensuring the compatibility with all the flight subsystems.
