Mission
As a DMU (Digital Mock-Up) Integrator, your
mission at PLD Space is to manage and optimize the digital representation of
launch vehicles throughout the product development lifecycle. You will play a
critical role in ensuring the accuracy of the digital models, facilitating
collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, and supporting the overall design
processes.
Responsibilities
- Digital Mock-Up (DMU) Management: Manage the digital mock-up environment using Siemens NX software. Maintain the integrity of the digital models, ensuring they accurately represent the physical systems.
- Model Integration: Integrate CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models, assemblies, and subsystems into the digital mock-up environment, ensuring proper alignment, clearances, and interfaces between components.
- Collaboration Facilitation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, structural analysts, systems engineers, and manufacturing teams, to ensure seamless integration of design data and to resolve design-related issues.
- Configuration Management: Implement and maintain configuration management processes for digital models to track changes, revisions, and design iterations.
- Management of the different launch vehicle effectivities applied at DMU level in the PLM (Teamcenter).
- Definition of standardized elements 3D models (acc. to normative), naming rules and storage management of these elements in the PLM database (Teamcenter).
- Follow-up and control of launch vehicle mass properties’ budget.
- Be able to provide updated weight reports and feedback at any time.
- Validation and Verification: Perform validation and verification activities on the digital models to ensure that they meet design requirements, including geometric, structural, and kinematic aspects.
- DMU Reviews: Organize and lead DMU reviews to assess model quality, accuracy, and compliance with design standards. Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements.
- Model Optimization: Collaborate with design engineers to optimize digital models for performance, manufacturability, and assembly. Identify and propose design changes when necessary.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Act as a liaison between different engineering disciplines, ensuring that all aspects of the digital mock-up align with the overall project objectives.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members and end-users on the use of Siemens NX and the digital mock-up environment.
- Best Practices: Stay updated on industry best practices, software updates, and emerging technologies related to digital mock-up and CAD integration and apply this knowledge to improve processes.
- Generate documentation, including user guides, user checklists and user manuals for internal customers use.
- Generate documentation for formal
program development reviews.
