Mission 

As a Bid Writer at PLD Space, you will be working on our bid strategy for our satellite launch projects.  

 

Responsibilities 

• Develop a comprehensive bid strategy tailored to satellite launch projects, focusing on institutional and prime proposals requiring in-depth attention. 
• Lead the end-to-end management of launch service bids and proposals. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather proposal resources effectively. 
• Customize proposal content to meet the specific needs of satellite launch clients, ensuring clarity and persuasiveness. 
• Ensure strict compliance and accuracy in all proposal documents. 
• Conduct competitive analysis specific to the satellite launch industry to inform strategic decision-making. 
• Organize and facilitate bid review meetings efficiently. 
• Cultivate positive client relationships to gather feedback and insights. 
• Continuously monitor and report on proposal outcomes, seeking opportunities for process improvement. 

Required Skills 

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a Business degree considered advantageous. 
• 5 year of experience preparing ESA/EC/National proposals 
• Exceptional project management and communication skills. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and bid management software. 
• Knowledge of satellite launch industry standards and regulations. 
• Strong analytical abilities, teamwork skills, and time management proficiency. 
• Adaptability and resilience to navigate industry changes. 
• Fluent in both written and spoken English, with daily activities conducted in Spanish. 

 

Required Competencies 

• Genuine passion for space and a strong commitment to collaboration. 
• Proven experience in bid management within the satellite launch services sector. 
• Ability to manage multiple bids at any one time. 
• An eye for detail – understanding the overall position whilst challenging the team on specifics. 
• Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate to various stakeholders as required by the bid. 
• A focus on delivery and planning, the ability to deliver to deadlines, and raise concerns / issues early. 
• Teamwork – this is a crucial part of the role, requiring a positive attitude, commitment, being proactive and reliable
