Mission  

As an Avionics System Engineer of the Avionics Team, your main mission will be to be responsible for all aspects of the design and development of safety-critical avionics systems, providing also support on the manufacturing, assembly and its integration in launch vehicles. 
  

Responsibilities  

  • Define and execute the Flight Safety System technology roadmap and timeline 
  • Work on the Flight Safety System architecture and apply relevant standard specifications 
  • Conduct system and component analyses to define Flight Safety System architecture and verify applicable requirements (reliability, single-point failure, FMECA, sneak circuit, Fraticide, maximum predicted environment, EEE piece-parts procurement and derating, etc.) 
  • Manage and maintain all the Flight Safety System interfaces (internal and external) 
  • Select relevant components, define custom requirements and manage the procurement process 
  • Work with suppliers to meet cost, programmatic and technical requirements of external developments and procurement 
  • Define requirements and work with the design team for in-house developed components 
  • Define functional and environmental test requirements, specifications, test plans and execute the test campaigns in collaboration with the Testing team, to qualify and accept all Flight Safety System components 
  • Integrate Flight Safety System components into the launch vehicle and execute all relevant integrated tests, checkouts or similar activities 
  • Create and communicate Flight Safety System relevant documentation with Flight safety authorities 

 

Necessary Requirements

  • BSc/MSc in Electrical/Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or similar education. 
  • Real life experience in electrical system integration and integrated system testing. 
  • Experience in conducting system analysis such as reliability, single-point failure, FMECA, etc. 
  • Experience in elaborating formal documentation. 
  • Familiarity with the use of test equipment (e.g. logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, function generators, power supplies). 
  • Real life hardware troubleshooting and software debugging skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information. 
  • Driven to deliver and constantly push the boundaries and take ownership and accountability for your own actions and mistakes. 
  • Can-do attitude and outstanding communication skills. 
  • Fluent in English and Spanish would be a plus.  

  

Desired Requirements

  • Experience with aerospace flight safety standards.
  • Experience in working with launch sites and executing launch operations.
  • Familiarity with environmental testing: Thermal, Vacuum, Vibration, Shock, Humidity etc. 
  • Experience with Li-Ion Batteries.
  • Experience with safety-critical avionics. 
  • Experience with radio-frequency systems. 
  • Basic understanding of sensors, valves, and pyro devices.
