Mission
As a Product Assurance Specialist, your mission will be to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance of products and processes with international standards and regulations in the space sector. This includes leading internal audits, implementing continuous improvement strategies, and driving initiatives to achieve ISO certifications such as AS/EN 9100 and ISO 14001, critical for the company’s operational excellence and market competitiveness
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and lead internal and external audits in accordance with ECSS, AS/EN 9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Drive the development and implementation of processes to achieve and maintain ISO certifications, including AS/EN 9100 and ISO 14001.
- Oversee quality gates, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and control mechanisms to ensure product compliance throughout the lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure readiness for certification audits and address any gaps in compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact during certification and surveillance audits conducted by external bodies.
- Perform risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential quality and safety hazards.
- Manage configuration control and documentation for certifications such as AS/EN 9100 and ISO 14001.
- Prepare reports, guidelines, and manuals to support both internal teams and external reviews.
- Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Drive initiatives to foster a culture of quality and operational excellence within the organization.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements, and ensure their integration into the product assurance processes.
- Generate documentation, including user guides, guidelines and user manuals for internal customers use.
- Generate documentation for formal program development reviews.
- Provide high-level and low-level feedback for MIURA 5 program development planning.
Necessary Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, with preference in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical of Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years in quality assurance or product assurance, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Experience implementing AS/EN 9100 or ISO 14001 certifications.
- Strong knowledge of quality management principles, auditing processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of quality management principles, quality control techniques, and product assurance processes.
- Understanding of configuration management, document control, and change management processes.
- Experience with quality management software tools and systems.
Desired Requirements
- Experience in product assurance or quality management within the aerospace industry and with ECSS standards:
- ECSS-Q-ST-10C (Space Product Assurance)
- ECSS-Q-ST-10-09 (Nonconformance Control System)
- ECSS-Q-ST-20 (Quality Assurance)
- Knowledge of launch vehicle or spacecraft manufacturing and testing processes.
- Familiarity with risk management techniques and tools, such as 8D, 5 Whys, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
- Understanding of reliability engineering principles and methodologies.
- Experience with suppliers' management and quality control of external deliverables.
- Certification in quality management or product assurance (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Certified Quality Engineer)
