Mission 

As PCB Assembly Technician at PLD Space, your main mission is to:  

  • Plan, control and execute manufacturing and assembly procedures of Printed Circuit Board assemblies. 
  • Plan, control and execute the electrical/mechanical assembly and integration of avionics hardware equipment at unit level. 

Responsibilities 

Manufacturing, Assembly and Integration 

  • Read, interpret, analyze and work with manufacturing, assembly and integration procedures, electrical/mechanical drawings, bill of materials, part lists and schematics. 
  • Execute manufacturing and assembly processes of high quality and high-reliable electrical wirings and internal harnesses of avionics hardware equipment. 
  • Perform and control the end-to-end process of PCB assembly such as pick-and-place machine programming, manual SMD/THT soldering, conformal coating, masking, epoxy and thermal silicone application, among others. 
  • Conduct the electrical and mechanical assembly/integration of avionics hardware equipment at unit level. 
  • Execute inspection procedures FAI activities of PCB assemblies before its integration in major products. 
  • Support Avionics technicians on the MAI activities for harness and integration of avionics hardware in major assemblies. 

Documentation 

  • Create technical and controlled documentation about manufacturing, assembly and integration criteria and recommendations that include lessons learnt and experiences to help a continuous improvement in this area.  
  • Generate manufacturing, assembly, integration and inspection reports to communicate the results with a precise, complete and clear manner. 

Interfaces 

  • Partner with the Production Engineering team to assist with the production processes for first runs. 
  • Provide interface with warehouse and laboratory technicians to request and collect materials required for the production processes. 

 

Necessary Requirements 

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate in electrical/electronic disciplines.  
  • 4+ years of professional experience in PCB assembly and its manufacturing processes. 
  • Demonstrated experience using manufacturing and assembly tools for PCBAs. 
  • Demonstrated experience in PCBA inspections. 
  • Demonstrated experience using basic mechanical and electronics hand tools.  
  • Ability to adapt to constantly changing work assignments and fast paced work environment.  
  • Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy.  
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Language - English and Spanish. 

Desired Competencies 

  • Experience working in the aerospace industry. 
  • Experience with environmental tests (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, etc.). 
  • Proficiency with Odoo.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.  
  • Basic knowledge of 3D CAD software, preferably SIEMENS NX.  
  • Proficiency using electronics equipment such as programmable power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, etc.  
  • Experience verifying and validating functionally electronic hardware.
