Description
Primary technical point of contact for the integration of customer payloads with PLD Space. You will be responsible for interfacing with cross product electrical and mechanical hardware teams to develop and maintain the internal and external payload interface baseline and the payload command and telemetry database. This role is hands-on and calls for experience in process development, technical writing, and customer interfacing integration operations.
Responsibilities
Develop processes and work instructions to build, integrate and test interdisciplinary payload assemblies in an efficient, precise and safe manner.
Identify and drive technical process improvements for efficiency and quality within Payload Integration.
Identify tooling and support equipment needed to support integration activities.
Interface with all subsystems teams: Structures, Avionics, Propulsion...
Provide technical directions to design team and production team.
Project manage the build and integration of hardware from design to shipment.
Verify testing for payload assembly hardware and supporting instrumentation.
Required Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
+5 years of experience in integration environment
Experience with payload to launch vehicle interface management
Experience with new part introduction and creating integration processes for complex assemblies
Experience leading integration operations (critical lifting, assembly mates, end-to-end integrated verification, testing…)
