Mission
As a Propulsion Design Engineer (Feed) at PLD Space, your mission is to design and develop cutting-edge feed systems for our launch vehicles and spacecraft. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the performance, reliability, and efficiency of the feed, contributing to the success of our space missions.
Responsibilities
- Participate in system design and architecture of liquid rocket propulsion subsystem. Tasks include concept design, detail design and creation of 2D drawings, as well as design support to production and assembly.
- Design of main feed components.
- Design of support structures and additional subsystems elements.
- Conduct trade studies and evaluations of propulsion system configurations and technologies to support decision-making processes.
- Liaise with other engineering departments (Structures, M&P, Quality, etc.).
- Optimisation of design solutions and completion of assigned tasks “on time, on quality, on cost" via continuous improvement processes.
- Definition of materials and selection of standard parts in accordance with programme requirements.
- Creation of BOMs for production and assembly installation.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for the procurement of propulsion system components, ensuring adherence to quality standards and technical specifications.
- Support manufacturing and assembly processes, providing technical guidance and resolving any design-related issues that arise during production.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of propulsion system design methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Generate documentation, including user guides, guidelines and user manuals for internal customers use.
- Generate documentation for formal program development reviews.
Necessary Requirements
- Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s degree or demonstrable relevant experience in lieu thereof.
- > 3 years of relevant technical experience.
- Experience in design and routing of fluid systems.
- Experience in the application of DFM (Design for Manufacture).
- High degree of CAD competence and PDM tools.

- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality design documentation, models, and drawings.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within cross-functional teams and communicate design concepts and requirements.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines and milestones.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of propulsion system design tasks.
- Fluent written and oral communication both in Spanish and English.
Desired Competencies
- Previous experience in Aerospace Industry.
- Knowledge of the main manufacturing technologies and their capabilities.
- Experience in the design cryogenic systems.
- Experience in the use of 3D CAD systems: CATIA and/or Siemens NX.
- Experience in the use of PDM systems: Teamcenter, VPM, EPD, Optegra, Enovia, etc.
